Get this...New deck just completed day before mandatory evacuation.
We stayed home with no problem except some roads were closed due to flooding and EVERYTHING else was closed for 2 days.
Thank goodness the power didn't go out for long.
Since we were pretty much trapped in the house there was lots of snacking, scrabble and movies I recorded.
Life is good.. everything back to normal and we have a new deck to lounge on.
Hey wait....another garden bed...WOO HOO
Last week
Last minute question.
Yes I know need to decorate with furniture/plants...maybe next spring.
English country style would be nice but I never saw any wooden decks in England.
In Europe...everything seems to be brick/stone not sticks like here.
Ok the question... my main concern is this cedar tree going to cause problems with the deck?
Needles everywhere. Sooo love this tree.
So glad you made it through okay! Your new deck is beautiful, and it's always exciting to have new planting space.
ReplyDeleteThose Hibiscus almost look unreal they're so big!
I am so glad you made it through the storm and high water. The deck is beautiful Patsi. Yes girl you need a new flower bed there. LOL! The hibiscus are so pretty. I love the white blooming one. Have fun with the new deck and flowerbed.
ReplyDeleteDear Patsi, I think you fared better than we did during the storm -- I'm glad you are OK. Love the new deck, especially the shape of the steps. Your photos are stunning -- what camera are you using? -- I guess I need to buy a new one. P. x
ReplyDeleteLove the new deck, glad you're OK. I love the cedar also. I'd leave it if you don't mind sweeping the deck often. We have a similar problem with our back porch, there's grapes overhead which drop leaves and, of course, grapes. And there is a locust tree which contributes. But we just resign ourselves to the occasional cleanup.
ReplyDeletePatsi, you make me smile...sounds like you were snug as a bug in a rug during the storm. Glad to see things are back to normal. I like the new deck. The cedar tree is beautiful. I wouldn't worry about it.
