Mellow Yellow

Hot hot hot and humid here for the last few days with temps over 100 degrees.
Kinda hard to take pics when the lens keeps steaming up.
Here are some plants that don't mind the heat so far.

Yellow Streak Heirloom tomatoes are really sweet.
I like sweet !

Coreopsis verticillata or Thread leaf Tickseed.
Danty and pretty.

Unknown Rose vine

Cucumber flowers
Three plants are producing 8-10 Kirby's a day.

False sunflower or Heliopsis 'Summer Sun' and
Black-Eyed Susan Rudbeckia hirta (Asteraceae)
Seem to like where I planted them and like the heat.

Sneezeweed 'Mardi Gras' or Helen's Flower Helenium
Had to relocate this year since I tend to overcrowd.
Now it's getting more sun.

  1. They all look great. I hear you on the heat!

  2. I can't believe who hot it is most everywhere! Your plants look like you're taking good care of them in the heat wave.

  3. Patsi, I like tomatoes the most! I have a bad feeling that this year won't be good for my tomatoes again! I have some green...
Your yellow blooms are so cheerful!

  4. Your garden looks very pretty and not bothered by the heat. Do you remember sending me seeds last year of tomatoes that might do well here? Well they are growing and a few have flowers, but we've been so cool that it's getting doubtful we'll have many if any at all. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

  5. Love all the yellows.......suits the heat doesn't it. Stay cool .....

  6. It's hot here too, Patsi, fifth day of triple digit temps!
Your garden looks great! My cucumbers didn't do very well this year. Maybe it's the heat.

  7. You have some lovely mellow yellows there Patsi. I love yellow tomatoes. The Helenium is so pretty.

  8. Patsi girl you make me want to grow cucumbers for those gorgeous yellow flowers : )
    You have some beauties here!
How are you liking TB ? .. I love that Eric and Sookie are getting together .. I wonder what will happen when Bill arrives at the house ? LOL
PS Alcide is easy on the eyes too ! hehehehe

  9. Wow I hope you get a cool-down soon. Love your blossoms, especially that rose!

  10. Your garden is looking great in spite of the heat. Wish it was warmer here - it's been cool and cloudy for ages now! Shall we swap weathers for a bit?!

  11. Your garden is sizzling hot with all those great performers. The heliopsis and rudbeckia was a great combo. What is the red flower growing near them?

  12. Jennifer@threedogsinagarden
I would be wilted in temperatures over 100 degrees! I think that you can't get through the latter part of the summer in the garden without some great yellow bloomers. Heliopsis and rudbeckia are among my favourite late summer flowers.
