On the brighter side...
Some pics from my new sun bed.
Dwarf cosmos from seed.
Gotta have them every year.
First year for roses ever....love them.
Thank goodness DH gave up more of his tomato beds so I could expand my sun bed.
Black-eyed Susan or Rudbeckia hirta...sure hope I don't have to replace every 2 years.
Transplanted Coneflowers.
Started these from seed 3 years ago and insisted they grew in partial shade till now.
Like their new home in full sun bed.
Still wonder where I can get a custom small metal plate/plaque for my garden bench...wooden one I made won't last.
Maybe where they sell pet tags?
Any ideas?
Great photos!
ReplyDeleteGreat sunny bed photos. Maybe a trophy shop would do a small plate for not much money.
ReplyDeletePatsi everything in the garden is looking so healthy and happy one can see how much you love your garden.....In Canada there are engraving shops called Things Engraved........
ReplyDeleteWelcome IGW,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit.

Tina,
Trophy shop...yay that's it !
~~
Rosemary,
Sounds like a cool shop. A plaque on our garden bench would be a wonderful keep sake with our special date to remember.
Patsi girl your garden is looking wonderful .. I am glad your hubby gave up space for those roses too girl !
ReplyDeleteI didn't know there was a dwarf cosmos ! .. what is the official name of them so I can keep that in mind ?
The plaque thing .. your thought on pet tags is a good one .. but a trophy shop should also have something there too ? .. that is a great idea girl ! : )
PS .. that shot of those gorgeous red roses .. SUPER !!
Patsi -- the orange cosmos seeds that you gave me are splendid! I can't believe that the deer don't eat them! The cosmos are over four feet tall and don't need staking. I've got to learn to collect cosmos seeds.
ReplyDeleteCameron
Joy,
ReplyDeleteThe dwarf cosmos I have are
Cosmos Cosmos sulphureus 'Ladybird Scarlet' and
Cosmos sulphureus 'Cosmic Red'.
I saw a trophy shop near by...I'll stop by this week. Knock Out Roses....my new love !
~~
Cameron,
Last year I had about 50 plants from direct sowing seeds I collected two years earlier...birds and bees loved them. Sooo happy the deer aren't eating everything.
What a wonderful year in flowers you are having.
ReplyDeleteYes, must hav cosmos every summer!
I grow those same short cosmos and I love them too.
ReplyDeleteNot sure where you can get a plaque, but there should be someplace.......
Sporting good stores with trophys can probably help with the plaque.
ReplyDeleteDonna
Your sun bed must be looking great! I love all the combinations you've got in there. I love those dwarf Cosmos, I didn't know there was such a thing!
ReplyDeleteLovely series of photos! I love every plant you show..I grow them too..oops not the dwarf cosmos..but that sounds delightful!
ReplyDeleteBecky,
ReplyDeleteIs that you ?
Where the heck have you been ?
You also love cosmos...must come by and see !
~~
Victoria,
Have to admit cosmos are easy to save seeds from and can direct sow.
~~
Donna,
If I can't get what I want at a trophy shop then I'll try a sporting goods store.thanks
~~
Catherine,
Dwarf are so much more manageable and no staking.
Like to photograph the whole bed but the 100 tomato stakes behind it takes away from the look.

Naturegirl,
Easy grow Annuals I believe a lot of us share. Mostly because they give us non stop color for the whole summer.
Hi Patsi, your garden looks great. I have cosmos for the first time this year. Mine are the pinks and the wine colored. Love your hot orange. I agree, I will always have them from now on, hundreds of them. Except for the deadheading, they are so carefree and so many blooms
ReplyDeleteMarnie
Marnie,
ReplyDeleteDeadheading can be endless with them BUT they are carefree and keep on blooming. In the past I've let them go to seed...collected the seeds then pruned them...and they started all over again.
Hey Patsi, love the shots from your garden. What a wonderful selection of plants and colour you have right now. Fav just has to be the first one... I am warming to deep orange :-D
ReplyDeleteShirl,
ReplyDeleteFunny, they are orange, suppose to be red...will be late in season.
I've enjoyed looking at your other posts. The sunny flowers look great. I don't have much experience with roses, either. I sure like that yellow one.
ReplyDeleteSue,
ReplyDeleteHey, stranger.
Glad you're having fun.
