It seems like it's raining half the time....no wait...it is !!!!
It's rained 35 out of the last 70 days ! Enough already !
So what does this mean other than making me cranky ? !
Well the sun sure won't dry out my garden gloves.
Plants not yet planted are getting drowned.
Ivy is out of control and spreading into the next county.
Yews are flopping over.... and unwanted ground cover is spreading.
Daisies are getting tooooo tall...will cut back today.
Also Bee Balm is climbing too high...will cut back these as well.
(Did the Sedum already).
And lets not forget lots of GREEN !
Hope to get one day this week to do more pruning and finish planting in the sun bed.
It's amazing how often it's been raining.
Of course, N.J. is not the only place getting an abundance of rain.
Somehow I see this creating some problems down the road....hopefully I'm wrong.
Almost forgot....Robins are EXTREMELY happy and FAT. We've got earth worms galore !
The best rain will be the one after weeks of hotspell.... The sky will really blue, and we can see far without haze to block view, birds coming out and chirping away ... the grass will laugh.
ReplyDeleteBut 35 out of 70 is a little bit too much...
Cheers!!

Patsi girl ! OMG !! That is ENOUGH rain is RIGHT ! .. green can get on your nerves eventually .. you NEED colour girl ... and the robins should be on the treadmill ? LOL
ReplyDeleteHere is hoping you get nice BRIGHT sunshine SOON !!
I am loving the rain. So nice after not getting any past early May for the past two years. Our extension agent did say they are having lots of trouble with leaf spot and fruit funguses. There is a down side for sure but love the green!
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping you get some much needed sunshine. You're right, when it rains a lot, you see lots of green . . . weeds!~~Dee
ReplyDeleteLots of rain here, too. I have plants that "should" have been around 2 feet high and they are 3-4 feet high. I've been cutting back all week and still have more to do!
ReplyDeleteSuch extremes. If it isn't drought, it's a deluge.
Cameron
Patsi, We're receiving a lot of rain, too. However, I haven't had to water Once, yet! :-) Nor did I hardly water Last Year. I just think it's very lush over at your house!! I also love the Greens in your photos. Enjoy it, wash the gloves and throw them in the dryer. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe rain must be moving around the country, we've had more than our share lately also, although if we had your green, green and just lovely shade garden.........I would have a tougher time complaining!
ReplyDeleteIt does get old having so much rain, although your hostas and ferns look very happy. We're having the opposite. We're a few days away from breaking the record for longest time without rain in the spring. I hope we can send you some sun and we'll take some of your rain out here in the Seattle area.
ReplyDeleteHi Patsi; it has been a cooler than normal spring here tho not an overabundance of rain..... your green is very lush and I envy the heuchera doing so well.......
ReplyDeleteBangchik,
ReplyDeleteYou do get tired of it being wet most of the time. Kind of hard to work outside.
~~
Joy,
The most we got so far is maybe one full day of sun inbetween rain drops or thunder storms.:(
~~
Tina,
Rain is always much better than the garden hose.
I just need a few dry days to prune !
~~
Dee,
Lets not talk weeds...I have wild honeysuckle killing one of my shrubs....might have to dig up one of my 6 foot tall privots to get rid of the honeysuckle. :(
~~
Cameron,
Yes, I know you're getting the rain also.
Would be nice if I had one day off a week that was dry.
~~
Shady,
Glad you enjoy the green. Think I'll just buy some more dollor store gloves. Can never have enough.
~~
Victoria,
I guess the shade beds are lovely...but it can get a little depressing without much sunshine.
We've been having lots of rain too, and more in the forecast for the coming week. Everything is overgrown! Yikes!
ReplyDeleteDonna
Catherine,
ReplyDeleteThat's so odd...you're not getting rain.
I wonder if we're breaking any records.
It can get depressing.
~~
Rosemary,
The shade plants sure are happy.
~~
Donna,
More rain here too. Only have 2 days a week to garden...hope one is dry.
Lots of rain here too and very cool temperatures. I can't bring myself to complain because usually we don't get nearly enough. It is hard keeping up with the lawn and gardens when everything is constantly soggy.
ReplyDeleteMarnie
Marnie,
ReplyDeleteYep, same here. Wouldn't be bad if all my projects were done. Just can't do much yet.
