First and probably last Snow Blizzard of 2009.
It's rare to see more than a dusting of snow here in southern NJ.
So you know I had to take some backyard pics!
Patsi girl ! wow ! what gorgeous snow and bird pictures you have taken here : ) Now you have some snow to treasure .. while I'm WAITING for our snow and ice to scram ? LOL Those were great photos !
WOW! And that second shot is especially WOW! Your backyard loos so surreal to me. I'm sitting here looking out the window to a clear blue sky, 77 degrees, a gusty day, with glare so bright I get a headache if I'm out in that light without sunglasses for more than 30 seconds. It's hard to believe that anyone anywhere has piles of snow around them.
Ohmygoodness! You Really have snow!! Fresh, untouched, "untracked" snow is so beautiful. I love the variety of photos!! (What a neat, colorful collection of birdhouses!!) :-)
Patsi, your photos are always perfect! I didn't realize that you don't usually get much snow. That looks quite deep. Hopefully, it is the last snow of 2009.
Hi Patsi, that is a heavy load on everything. I do hope it is the last time this season too. I love the line up of bird houses, so colorful and cheering. Great shots of the birds too, love the female cardinal. Frances
Was für wunderschöne Schneefotos. Aber ich bin den Winter leid und freue mich, dass bei uns die ersten Krokusse blühen. Heute konnte ich sogar schon im Garten arbeiten - endlich. -
Kim and Victoria, It's a cardinal but female. ~~ Cheryl, Over one foot of snow. Funny, the birds don't mind. ~~ Blossom, Welcome. Glad you enjoyed the photos. ~~ Marnie, Cardinals sure are pretty! ~~ Joy, Glad you enjoyed stranger :) ~~ Genie, Did you say 77 degrees? Rub it in...why don't ya! ~~ Shady, The second bird is a white-throated sparrow. I can't seem to throw out the old bird houses even though they're falling apart. ~~ Lona, Glad you enjoyed. ~~ Cameron, We're only 4 miles from the ocean and 1 mile from the bay....so it's usually just a little too warm to get more than a dusting. ~~ Frances, I was having fun watching all the birds rest on the trees before going to the feeders. They don't seem to mind the snow! ~~ Chad and Brandy, Next month there will be color!! ~~ Charlotte, Ich stimme zu ... wir sind alle müde, der Winter! Freuen uns, Sie zur Arbeit außerhalb in Ihrem Garten.
I hope that snow melts quickly, giving your plants a good drink. It did make for some great photos! I love the one of the bird on the branch, and the birdhouses.
Wow! You guys really got dumped on! Love the pics of your yard, though. The cardinal is gorgeous. What's the bird with the red beak?
ReplyDeleteGosh.....that is a lot of snow....glad it is not here....
ReplyDeleteLove the cardinals.....they always stand out....
Beautiful photographs......
You got quite a bit of snow. It missed us, thank goodness because 100 mile north they got 14-inches.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos of the evergreens covered in snow and especially love the bird photos. That female cardinal in the snowy tree is a great shot.

Beautiful scene you have there. Hopefully that will be the last snow of the winter. It's time for sun and color to fill the yard.

The bird houses are old but I can't part with them.:)
