The 2009 Philadelphia Flower Show-part 3
Finally the end of the big event !!!
Below are smaller exhibits..many that were in competition.
Some of the exhibits came under some internet criticism..
I believe because they weren't "garden related".
BUT with a show this large...who cares !
Also below are some of the 140 venders...you name it... they had it!

Didn't buy any plants BUT couldn't leave without bringing SOMETHING home !
This little metal angel should do nicely hanging somewhere in the garden.

What a wonderful show! I think I would have needed a van to take home several plants and the concrete containers! Your angel is perfect! gail
ReplyDeleteHi Patsi, I love the bonsai photo (#11) simple yet stunning! Great purchase with the angel...I bought a few bulbs and also scored a tree peony for $20!! May take a few years to bloom but much better than paying $99 or more! I added your link on my post, hope that's ok.

Patsi,
ReplyDeleteI love #4, 12 and 14! Great ideas! Thanks for sharing your photos. You must have had a great time!

Patsi .. I'm so damn jealous of this garden show ! Another year in Kingston NOT having a show .. there is a HUGE one in Toronto but I just can't take the energy with the drive there and back and 3 acres of displays .. it would kill me because I would want to see every bit of it ... loved seeing your adventures though !
ReplyDeleteWhat is the best idea you took away from it all ?
Hi Patsi,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tour. What a wonderful garden show. It was almost like being there!
Donna
Thanks for the fine tour and great photos, Patsi. (Sigh), perhaps next year ... I'm overdo for a visit to my niece in Yardley (not too far away)!
ReplyDeleteGail,
ReplyDeleteAlso loved the concrete containers. I think some you can make.

Lynn,
It was hard not to buy any plants...think I'll wait to go to Pope's for my perennials.
~~
Cameron,
Glad you enjoyed my VERY long set of posts.
~~
Joy,
Believe it or not...didn't get any ideas. I'm always looking for them but this show was for the large stately gardens.
~~
Donna,
I tried to give a good sampling of the whole event.
~~
Joey,
Would love to see Yardley. Always enjoy something different...makes life interesting.
Patsi I don't know how you restrained yourself to just one purchase. Love your pics. What a great flower show. I am amazed that more people weren't there it did not seem crowded.
ReplyDeleteWow what a great show! We had our local one this weekend and it was a flop. Nothing even remotely worth seeing and we had to pay to get in. Basically it was advertising for stuff. I would love to see this one!
