"Summer 2008 Inspiration" (December)Hosted by Shady at
Does Everything Grow Better in my Neighbors Yard
The inspirations are never-ending. They come in all aspects of life.
This is a "2 for 1" post.... December(hardscape)inspiration post AND October(garden visits).
Can't speak of any hardscape done (or plan to do) but think I can get away with sharing with you something I plan on trying... using cement called "hypertufa troughs". As said before, yours truly does NOT follow instructions very well !!!
These are just samples(not mine) of hypertufa projects from "EFIL DOOG" and gardenprimitives.
So glad I found this inspiration by Frances at Faire Garden who did a wonderful post on "Troughs Recycled".
She made herself some really cool garden troughs and even tells you how to do them.
It's a must see ! She's sooo creative !
Have seen it done on "Gardening by the Yard" but never knew anyone who actually made any.
Marine at Roses and Lilacs, also an interesting blogger, has an idea for a birdbaths using the same material. The post is called From PC's to Birdbaths. What a great idea !!
Hmmmm ...wonder what else you can make with this material.
This is just a glimpse from garden tours/visits.
I want to have it all but will settle for creating one new bed next year with the inspiration from these gardens tours. And of course my fellow garden bloggers !
If you'd like to see more... visit labels "Garden Tours".

Garden troughs, THAT'S what my husband needs! I love it! I'll have to show him those.
I keep fantasizing about a garden in the Spring. I may break down and try something on a very small scale--you're very inspiring.
Hey, we came into possession of a bunch of used pallets. I've Googled for uses and found little that we could use them for--how many compost bins does one person need? Any ideas?
I can only see 1/2 inch of the tops of each photo! :-(
Our DSL modem is dying out, too. It will probably be Thursday or Friday before we receive the replacement from BellSouth.
I'm missing out on so much! I will be back when I can actually see photos again!
Thanks,
Cameron
Beautiful post and photos, Patsi. Thanks for taking us along this lovely journey. I envy the creativity and only buy these masterpieces at the Farmer's Market from other artists.
Patsi, WOW! Speaking of Inspiration! :-) Hypertufa is on the list for sometime this late Winter or early Spring!! We'll need to compare notes! Your floral photos are Wonderfully inspiring! Great post and thanks!
Hi Patsi, thanks so much for that fine write up. Your photos of other troughs have got me inspired for some new ideas next year too!
Isn't it soothing to the soul to see pix of flowers blooming earlier this year. And it isn't really even winter yet, yikes! Dreaming of flowers...
Frances
