Lighthouse Garden

Hereford Inlet Lighthouse Gardens
Located in North Wildwood,NJ

I love finding gardens to add to my "garden ideas". I think these gardens can be helpful to the gardeners wanting to design a new bed or change an old one. Also it's a good reminder as to what does well different times of the season.

It's a small park surrounding the Lighthouse which has many different garden areas containing over 200 plant varieties. The gardens are planted in the Victorian cottage style and extend right up to the ocean seawall. Some flowers got a little beat up due to heavy rains last week but I think you'll still enjoy the tour.

  1. Wow, all of that in one place! I love the white daisies the most, of course. Daisy freak! Was that lantana? If so, the blossoms on it looked so much bigger than the lantana you usually see growing here. Nice!

  3. Thank you for the wonderful tour of this beautiful garden. I love that there is still so much color in the garden in fall. The color combinations are amazing. This garden is so appealing, I especially like the intiquing paths; the garden art; and dahlias are one of my favorite autumn flowers.

  4. I've just put 2 and 2 together, and realised... its been bothering me all day. I knew your blog when I saw it on Blotanical, but I couldn't recall why! Now I know, we have more than just photographs in common. You visited The Journey too, and left kind thoughts for me.

Just love all those blues and reds and yellows, so invigorating!I'll be back!

  5. Genie,
Yes it's lantana which they had in almost every bed. The dasies are montauk dasies which I just happened to buy before we went there.

    T,
I always thought of doing paths in my own backyard. This way I can squeeze more in.

  8. What a beautiful garden! I can see why you thought it was especially inspiring. :-) Thanks for sharing. I am not good at planting any great number of annuals, though. I guess it's my loss, isn't it?!
