Green Thumb Sunday

I find the garden most rewarding as it continues to change.
One way I can bring change is to start new flowers from seed every year, which I'll be sharing with you for the next couple of Sundays.
I was delighted to find out GTS posts don't have to be current. So these flowers are from last year before I started posts with Blogger.

I had so many cosmo plants (over 50 of them) it was beautuful in my back yard. But it was a little overwhelming deadheading all of them. Yes, I was out of control. Seeds were saved just in case I want to try them again but next time it won't be so many. I did control myself this past summer but of course things change from year to year.

Tetra Versailles

Ladybird Scarlet-dwarf

Orange (very tall unknown)

Mixed-dwarf(from trade)

Bipinnatus Candy Stripe

Polidor

  2. Those are really beautiful! I'm going to try cosmos next year. I have some pale yellow seeds. I have to try them out to see if they pass the deer and bunny test! Cameron

  3. Your Cosmos are great! It's easy to get too many plants, when you like gardening - and dead heading can be awfully tiresome. But having lots of flowers makes a garden beautiful!

  4. I have not tried cosmos, but they are on my list for next spring. Your are so pretty. Do you have to collect seed or do they reseed in place?

    Katarina and Crafty,
When my dear husband gives up some of his space(where he grows 100 tomato plants) that is full sun,I'll let them grow freely and not worry about deadheading everything.

    Joey,
    Thanks for stopping by.

  8. Your cosmos are so pretty, I've never grown them. Maybe next year, I'd have to search for a new spot, we have alot of dappled sun. Are they deer resistant?

  9. Cosmos are a favorite of mine too. I let them reseed pretty freely, but move some around too.
